It is a sad fact but true that alot of Martial Arts schools have Youth programs simply because its a source of revenue. These schools focus on telling you "The Parents" the "Consumer" that your child will learn Respect, Discipline, Self-Control etc... all things that you want to hear and then go as far as to advertise that your child will learn "Self-Defense" in their program.

Here is a little insight for you. Alot of Martial Arts schools are really "Day Care" in disguise as "Martial Arts". They might spend 30 minutes training Martial Arts, The rest is spent playing games, doing homework or socializing. So based on this, how is your child really supposed to learn Respect, Discipline and Self-Control? Or better yet trully be able to defend theirselves? The answer is they can't.

So why do parents keep their children in the programs? Yet another simple answer, "BELTS". These schools are what we call "Belt Factory's" that throw Martial Arts ranking belts around like candy. This tricks both the parents and students into believing that they are making progress.

So what makes Odyssey Martial Arts Academy any different from the rest of the Martial Arts schools in the area? The answer is a conscience.
